Holy Week 2020
Good Morning St. Barbara’s!
I hope that you and your families are all well and that you are enjoying the Spring sunshine in your garden.
Holy Week, the most important week in our Liturgical calendar began on Sunday.
Pope Francis had a very special message for young people and children on Palm Sunday.
Have a look at the powerpoint presentation attached and try to complete the task.
Happy Easter Primary 4/3
Boys and girls take extra care this Easter. It will be a different kind of holiday but make the most of it. Remember to be on your best behaviour. Hope the Easter bunny is good to you all.
Look out for Mrs McKinney’s posts reminding us of the importance of Holy Week and Easter.
Wishing you all a very happy and holy Easter.
Love Mrs Boyce and Mrs Graham 🌈
Good afternoon everyone,
I just want to say a big well done to everyone who took part in our Sumdog competition today. You all did extremely well but our class winner was Anna. Well done Anna I am very impressed with your score.
Happy holidays everyone!

Enjoy your Easter holidays Primary 7!
Good afternoon my super sevens 🌟,
I hope you have all tried to complete today’s tasks, remember to post any pictures you have taken on Twitter.
I would like to congratulate Connor Ward for winning this weeks Sum Dog competition. This was a tricky competition and you smashed it. Well done, you should be extremely proud of yourself! I will be posting lots more maths competitions in the coming weeks. Let’s see who can beat our reigning champion, Connor 🏆.
I would like to wish you all a very happy and holy Easter break. I know this school holiday will be extremely different from previous holidays but it is important that we make the most of them by spending time with our family, get outside when possible and do lots of fun activities to keep us busy. Try not to spend too much time on computer games etc. Here are pictures of some Easter craft ideas.
Let us take a moment to remember the true meaning of Easter. Easter is a time when we remember that Jesus died for our sins. In the week leading up to Easter Sunday we celebrate Holy Week. During this week we prepare for the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Try to spend time each day of Holy Week saying a special little prayer. I have attached a PowerPoint that explains a bit about each day of Holy Week and why it is important.
Don’t eat too many chocolate eggs and please remember to stay safe. Speak to you all soon.

Primary 6 – Friday 3rd April
Good Afternoon Primary 6,
There will be no official blog posts by teachers over the Easter break but I didn’t want to leave you wondering what the nine letter word from this morning’s challenge was.
Y R E A T I N T C
CERTAINTY
Did you get it? I thought that it was a CERTAINTY that you would.
Did you see what I did there? I used the word that WAS the answer in a sentence ABOUT the answer. It’s that kind of clever wordplay that made White Haired Teacher Magazine call me, “A teacher at St. Barbara’s Primary School” and you can’t get better than that.
Stay safe and have fun over the holiday. If you accidentally learn something try not to get too upset, sometimes brains do that.

Good Afternoon Primary 1b
Good afternoon boys and girls☺️
Well done to all of the children who managed to take part in this week’s Sumdog Maths competition. You have all worked very hard and tried your very best. The leader board was very close but we have a winner.
The winner of our maths competition is Matthew. 👏👏👏👏👏
Well done Matthew. You have been crowned our MATHS CHAMPION this week! 👑🥇
Today we stop for our Easter break and I would just like to tell you how proud I am of each and every one of you. Learning has been very been different these past two weeks and I know how much you must be missing your friends. I am missing you all lots! You have all been working so hard and I have loved hearing about all the amazing things you have been doing at home. Well done everyone! You definitely deserve a break!
Thank you to all parents for your help over the last two weeks. You have all been wonderful. I know it can’t be easy and I really appreciate your support and patience as we begin a new way of learning.
I know your Easter break will be quite different this year boys and girls, as you will be spending most of your time at home but I hope you have lots of fun and enjoy spending time with your families. Remember to be kind and helpful around the house, stay safe and keep smiling! I hope the Easter bunny pays you a visit and you get to eat lots of chocolate eggs! 🐰 🥚 🍫
I hope you all have a lovely break. Wishing you and your families a very happy and holy Easter.
Take care,
Miss McEleney 🥰
