Week Beginning Tuesday 17th November

Hello Primary 4. I hope you have enjoyed your nice long weekend.

Please complete 10 minutes of independent reading per night.

As this is a shorter week, I have set a spelling challenge and a maths challenge on Sumdog.

If you did not complete your Health and Wellbeing competition last week use this week to finish.

Homework Week Beginning 9th November

10 minutes of independent reading of own novel.

Monday

Red Group- We are revising some of your spelling rules. One syllable words e.g hop , need the final consonant to be doubled before endings which start with a vowel.

e.g hop + p + ing = hopping

hop + p + ed = hopped.

Can you add the endings to each of these words (shop, drop, skip, trip, get, tan) Can you think of any more examples of words and write them down?

Yellow Group- elkonin boxes for phoneme words (chef, chauffeur, chaperone, chute, parachute, chalet, machine, brochure)

Tuesday

Complete the maths worksheet provided in class.

Wednesday

Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible, Included 

 These are the SHANARRI Indicators and they measure YOUR health and Wellbeing. The first is all about keeping yourself Healthy (eating and exercising) and Achieving (working hard and doing your best) at home and at school.

 Can you design a character to represent eitherWe would like to have someone or something everyone would recognise in school. 

 There will be a class winner and one overall winner. 

 Please upload your picture. The closing date for this  

competition is Wednesday 25th NovemberGood luck!

Hello Primary 4,

I have attached your homework below for the coming week.

Last week there was an issue with my emails. I will provide feedback to anyone who sent homework throughout this week.

10 minutes reading of independent novel.

Monday- Write your spelling words 3 times. Write sentences for 5 of your spelling words.

Red- spoil, disappointed, avoid, moisture, decoy, destroy, voyage, loyal, employ.

Yellow- judge, badge, ledge, lodge, fudge, cadge, edge.

Tuesday- Complete the addition worksheet provided in class.

Wednesday- This week we are celebrating the feast of All Saints Day and will learn about Saints in class. Pick one Saint and research them. We will share our ideas in class on Friday during R.M.E. time.

Independent reading for 10 minutes each night.

Monday – We have now finished Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Design a comic strip of your favourite part.

Tuesday – I have set a money challenge on Sumdog.

Wednesday- Create an Autumn collage. You can use leaves, twigs, stones or anything you wish (use your imagination!)

Welcome back Primary 2!

I hope you all had a lovely, relaxing October break.

It is officially term 2. I hope you are ready for lots more super learning this term.

Your child has been set homework tasks for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night. Please remember to return your child’s reading book along with their clear zippy wallet on Thursday.

Hello Primary 4,

There seems to have been an issue with glow and where to find your homework this week. I have checked on my computer and I can access this fine however I know some people have had issues.  I have deleted the original post in the hope this now works.

Group 1- Draw a phoneme flower for ‘ough’ phoneme.

Group 2 – Draw a phoneme flower for a-e phoneme.

Tuesday – Design a poster about money.

Wednesday- In class we have been learning about Mary our Mother as it is the month of October. Design Mary’s prayer and say this each night.
