Friday 24th April 2020

Good Morning Primary 3,

Happy Friday!!

We have had a busy week full of lots of revision. Before you do anything else give yourself a big pat on the back. You are working so hard and Miss McMullen is very proud of each and every one of you.

Before you begin your work today please take some time to say the morning prayer. Please also say a Hail Mary and Our Father for anyone who is sick at this time.

I had so much fun doing some literacy tasks in the garden that I thought you might want to give some of them a go. To begin today we are going to revise our work on nouns. Can you remember the definition of a noun?

Take a look at our poster to remind you.

Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives | Nouns, adjectives, Parts of speech ...

Now, if you are able, go outside and try to make some nouns using items from your garden. Take a look at some that I tried in my own garden by clicking the link below.

Nouns

Now lets revise our spelling words from this week and get our bodies moving at the same time.

Use the poster below and spell out your name. Now challenge yourself and spell out some of this weeks spelling words. Miss McMullen was very much out of breath after this task.

Spell Your Name Workout - What's Your Name? Fitness Activity ...

Now we should all be feeling tired so lets relax with some reading. Choose a story to read, this can be one you have at home or an ebook from Oxford Owl. Sit down, chill out and read quietly to yourself. You might choose to do this in your garden or maybe curled up on your couch. Wherever you feel you can relax.

For Numeracy today we are going to bring together some of the concepts we have been working on this week. Please click the link below to access some tasks.

Numeracy Friday

This afternoon, if you are able, go into your garden and try to make up a game to play using things you can find. Click the link below to take a look at my bowling alley using my nieces ball and bottles from my recycle bin. As you will see, I didn’t quite manage a strike.

Bowling Alley

Please ask an adults permission before using any household items or things from your garden.

Now please do not worry if there are any tasks you cannot manage. Just do what you can and take plenty of breaks. As it is Friday, finish off today by giving yourself some well deserved golden time. If you aren’t able to go outside today try some of the tasks with items you find indoors.

Please keep an eye on Twitter today to find out how you can enter our Road Safety competition.

Have a lovely day and a fantastic weekend. I hope to hear from you all soon.

Take care!

Take plenty of breaks and do not worry if you cannot manage all of the tasks in one day.

Wednesday 22nd April 2020

Good Morning Primary 3,

I hope you’ve been enjoying your home learning this week.

Don’t forget to say the morning prayer before you start your day.

Lets start today with some P.E as part of our Health and Wellbeing.

Don’t forget to warm up. Here is a link to the warm up song we use in class.

I found a useful resource with exercises we can do at home with little to no equipment. Click the link and take a look. Lets get our bodies moving.

This afternoon I would like you do some R.E work. This week we have had a look at prayer. Today we are looking at The Lord’s Prayer. This a prayer that you all know from school. Please have a look at the power point which will take you through each line.

The Lord’s Prayer

When you have read through the power point I would like you carefully think about what each line means. Copy each line down into your jotter and draw a picture to represent what it means.

End this task by trying to say The Lord’s Prayer.

Like always, I would love to see some of your work so feel free to send some pictures. Also drop me a message if you have any questions regarding your work. mcmullenke@st-barbaras.n-lanark.sch.uk

Remember it is not compulsory for you to complete every single task just do what you can manage and ensure you take lots of breaks. You also have access to a brand new home learning grid for some further challenge tasks.

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Primary 3,

I hope you are all safe and well. What a beautiful morning it is today. If you are able, it may be nice to get out for a nice walk with an adult or for some sunshine in the garden. It is so important to keep ourselves healthy and active at this time.

Well done for your hard work yesterday. I was so impressed with all the examples I received. Please continue to get in touch as I love looking at your wonderful work. Please remember that you do not have to complete every single task each day as much as you can manage is absolutely fine. It is important to take lots of breaks throughout the day.

Good Morning Primary 3,

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break spending time with your family. I am missing you all lots and can’t wait to hear what you have all be up to. It feels very strange not being back in the classroom ready to begin a new term however, I know you will all work extremely hard to learn at home.

Today I have attached a daily plan. The tasks can be completed throughout the day in any order.  If you didn’t contact me before the holiday to get your revision spelling list please do. You can reach me on mcmullenke@st-barbaras.n-lanark.sch.uk

I would love to see some pictures or examples of your work. Please send them to me in an email or you can also tweet these to the school page.

Stay safe and keep smiling!!

Friday 3rd April 2020

Good Morning Primary 3,

Happy Friday! Today is usually when we do our spelling test. As we are revising phoneme sounds and common words that we have already learned, I would like you to choose one week from the list and test yourself. You may want to write them down or spell them out loud. This is a good way to know which words we need to have another look at. If you haven’t got your spelling list yet please get in touch. (mcmullenke@st-barbaras.n-lanark.sch.uk)

It looks like it’s going to be a lovely day so try and get some fresh air and a bit of exercise today.

At 11:00am a Sumdog maths challenge is going to begin.  This will run until 3:00pm and I will announce the winner. Good luck!

Over the next 2 weeks try and have a well deserved rest. You have all been working extremely hard. I know it isn’t the kind of holiday we are used to but let’s try and make the most of spending some time at home with our family. I am planning to read a new book and go for some nice walks. I look forward to hearing what you get up to.

Keep checking the blog over the holiday as Mrs McKinney is going to be uploading some Easter activities for you to have a look at.

I’m wishing you all a safe, happy and holy Easter and I will speak to you all very soon.
