P4/3 Wednesday 22nd April

Good morning everyone, start today with our morning prayer and a Hail Mary for all those who are sick and for all our NHS workers who are working hard in all the hospitals across the country.

H&WB

Keep moving boys and girls, either with Joe Wicks or Jump start Johnny or even Oti Mabuse! Exercise is not only good for the body but great for the mind.  It makes you feel good!  Therefore I have attached some Workout Challenges for you.  You don’t need any fancy resources, in fact you will see that you have most of them in your house already!  Do you have a pillow ? Or even a bag or box of mismatched socks?!?!? Hahaha if your house is like mine, I’m sure you will! My girls are doing the sock game today!  Try it out!

Literacy

For 15-20 minutes, ask an adult to help you revise your phoneme words, ask them to dictate short sentences for you.

On Monday, I asked you to start reading a book of your choice.  By now you should have completed at least one chapter.  I would like you to use one of your comprehension strategies – Visualisation.  Choose a descriptive setting or character from your text and draw and label your drawing.  Remember, this is how you imagine it to look like using the descriptive language from book.  Feel free to send me these.

A follow on task from this: Can you list the adjectives used in this phrase? Can you remember what an adjective is? Find out if not. Next, using adjectives, describe your own appearance or a family member’s.  You can draw a portrait of them too.

Numeracy

Let’s start with practising our counting this morning, you should try to count in 2s,3s,5s and 10s.  Have a look at that following link, there are lots of activities you can do here to support your counting.

Write the following numbers in words:

89, 112, 159, 202, 270, 333, 471

Use the following link for extra work on place value.  I have also attached some challenges for those of you who want to give yourself that little bit extra challenge and push.

STEM

I came across a great wee experiment for you and have attached it below; how to make your own lava lamp.  If you have the resources, have a go at this and don’t forget to post your pics or videos on twitter!  Have fun!
