Primary 4 Home Learning Activities

Dear primary 4 parents,

I hope you had a lovely weekend. This week we are moving to Microsoft Teams for online learning. As this is a new platform, it may take a little time to get used to. I want to say a big thank you to the pupils who managed to access Teams last week to try it out.

The weekly learning grid has been posted to the Files section on Teams. I will also upload to the Posts section daily with the activities for that day and a daily riddle. If you have any queries you can post on Teams and I am still available through email. I have attached a document explaining how to access Teams through GLOW, however you can also download the app which makes it easier.

Have a wonderful week! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

P7 Home Learning Activities – Term 4, Week 3

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend! Please find attached a suggested timetable of home learning activities and group spelling words for this week – you will see it is shorter than normal due to Friday being a bank holiday, can’t believe we are into the month of May already!

Please note, on the 2nd page of the suggested timetable is list of all relevant website links. All other resources needed to complete tasks have been uploaded to the “Files” section of our P7 Team (Microsoft Teams). If you are still unsure of how to access this please see attached Microsoft Teams User Guide.

I am planning to run a P7 Lockdown Quiz this Thursday afternoon for a bit of fun so keep your eyes peeled, further info will be sent to your Glow accounts at some point.

In the meantime, I hope you all have a great week!

Stay safe,

Miss Coyle.

Primary 3 Home Learning – Term 4, Week 3

Dear Parents,

We hope you and your children are well. We continue to miss you all so much and have really enjoyed hearing from everyone who has logged in to Microsoft Teams so far.

We have two special challenges for you to complete this week.

Challenge 1: Last week we had a number of children who successfully accessed Microsoft Teams from our class; well done to those children! They can choose a prize from our class lucky dip box when we return to school. It would be wonderful if everyone in our class could log in to Microsoft Teams this week as then we would know that you are accessing the learning that has been carefully planned for you. Please also leave us a little message to say hello. Anyone who accesses Microsoft Teams this week can also choose a prize from our lucky dip box when we return to school.

Challenge 2: The second challenge is to login into Sumdog Maths every day this week (with the exception of Friday which is a holiday). An important quiz has been set up for you each day which will help us to know how well you are doing and if you need any help in a range of maths topics. Please complete the quiz each day before completing any other academic work (including the original home pack).

Good luck with your two challenges, we can’t wait to see how you get on!

The suggested learning schedule for this week can be found in the P3 Term 4 Home Learning Schedule folder on Microsoft Teams. We have attached the guide on how to access Microsoft Teams through GLOW below again for your reference. It has been updated to offer instructions on how to use the Microsoft Teams App which is the easiest way to access Microsoft Teams.

On Microsoft Teams we have also now added in the option for your child to upload and store any photos, videos or work in their own individual folder (in Files) whilst home learning is ongoing. Please note that these folders can be accessed by anyone in our class but we ask and strongly advise that you only access your own personal folder. If you would prefer to continue emailing work directly to Mrs. Mori, please feel free to continue doing this instead.

Mrs. Schammas will be making phone contact with you all this week to touch base and say hello. As always, Mrs. Mori will also be in contact with you all and making follow-up phone calls to families we haven’t heard from in a while. In the meantime, please do let us know if you need any further support.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your ongoing hard work and support with the learning and education of your children. This has been a huge learning curve for all of us, particularly with all of the new technology we are all getting to grips with. Thank you for bearing with us and supporting us so well as we try to support you and your children at home.

Kind regards and sending lots of love,

Mrs. Mori & Mrs. Schammas

Microsoft Teams – P7 User Guide

Hi Everyone,

I have attached a Microsoft Teams User Guide for your reference – this is the platform which all classes will be uploading work to on a weekly basis.

Teams can either be accessed via Glow or by downloading the app on your phone – the user guide explains how to access both.

The name of our class team is “Primary 7 – Miss Coyle” and all children have been set up on the team already, I have sent them all an email to their Glow accounts with this user guide and instructions for them to follow to be able to access Teams.

Microsoft Teams is great for instant messaging communication between myself and the class, but also as a platform to be able to upload all of our work to the one place. Many of the class have already been using Teams which is encouraging to see.

I sent all work at the beginning of the week to your child’s Glow email account, it is now also available in the “Files” section of Microsoft Teams called “Week Beginning 27.04.20” and this will continue for the weeks to follow. As normal, I will continue to post the suggested weekly timetable of Home Learning Activities to the school website for your reference.

What this means for you is that activities and resources will now be stored in one central location and you or the children will no longer need to trawl through emails trying to find the various set tasks. We will be using Microsoft Teams for the remainder of the academic year.

If you have any questions, please just get in touch.

Thank you for your continued support during these challenging times,

Miss Coyle.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend – the weather has been amazing!

Please see attached a suggested timetable of Home Learning activities for this week (including website links) and Group Spelling words.

We are encouraging all pupils to be accessing their Glow accounts, therefore all other resources required for this week will be sent directly to your child’s email account. I have also attached a Glow Help Guide for anyone who is  unsure of how to access Glow . On the whole, P7 are used to using Glow and have been communicating with myself regularly via email which I would encourage them to continue. Any pupils who have not yet been in touch via Glow, I will send out individual emails this week to check in.

Have a great week and any questions, please just get in touch.

Take care and stay safe,

Dear parents/carers,

I hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the good weather.

I have attached this weeks suggested learning activities. As of next week we will be moving to Microsoft Teams via GLOW for home learning. This means that all suggested activities and resources will be in one place. I have emailed all resources for this week to your child’s GLOW email to ensure all pupils have access. If you have any issues with accessing GLOW please contact me. All resources will also be available on Microsoft Teams to allow you time to become familiar with the platform. I will send out instructions with regards to using Teams later this week.

Have a happy and healthy week,
