We have been learning……….

 The children within the early level playroom have been using their senses to explore the seasonal changes taking place around them.  The children have taken part in a variety of  learning opportunities that promotes their awareness  of  how their sense of touch, sight, smell, hearing and taste enriches their learning and development.

 

What’s on week beginning 9th November 2015

Gillian is on sick leave all week, therefore Emma will continue to support the Bumblebee welcome group.

Jennifer and Liz will be supporting in the early level playroom all week.

Rachael Gardener work experience pupil from St Aidan’s High School will be in the early level playroom this week.

Monday 9th November

Alison Hay, Early Learning Development Officer will be visiting with Lynn and Jackie this morning .

Tuesday 10th November

Jackie is delivering Play on Pedals training to colleagues with North Lanarkshire Council today.

Colleagues from early learning and childcare establishments will be visiting the centre this afternoon at 1.30 pm to meet with Lynn.

Wednesday 11th November

Pre five learning support teacher Yvonne Quigg will be in the early level playroom today.

Lorna Cullen, Health Visitor will be visiting the birth to three playrooms this afternoon.

Marie Jo McGurl will be visiting the centre at 10 am today.

Thursday 12th November

Speech and language therapist Gemma Lythgoe will be in the centre all day today.

Rhona Inglis, Paediatric occupational therapist will be in the early level playroom at 10.30 today.

Friday 13th November

Vicky Scott, Paediatric Physiotherapist will be in the early level playroom this morning.

Infant Massage with Amanda in the Sunshine Room this afternoon.

Please note the centre will be closed to all children on Monday 16th November for staff training.

Supporting in the early level playroom is temporary early learning practitioners Danelle and Shannon.

Lynn is attending the planning group  this afternoon for the forthcoming NLC Nurture Conference in February 2015.

Monday 26th October

Siobhan is on sick leave therefore Charlotte Valentine, temporary early learning practitioner will be supporting the Ladybird Group until further notice.

Christine remains on sick leave. 

Jennifer and Liz will be supporting in the early level playroom Monday to Thursday.

Tuesday 27th October

Jackie is delivering Play on Pedals training to colleagues within NLC.

Wednesday 28th October

Yvonne Quigg pre five learning support teacher will be in the early level playroom today.

Nevine Mamhoud, educational psychologist will be in the early level playroom this afternoon.

Thursday 29th October

Jackie is on annual leave today.

Friday 30th October

Paul from Cycle Scotland will be in the nursery today observing Play on Pedals

Lynn is attending Five to Five Training today.

Today Simmone Payne, ASNa will be finishing for her maternity leave, we wish Simmone well as she takes a well earned rest before Baby Gray is welcomed to their family.

Monday 19th October 2015

Amanda is on annual leave until Thursday. 

Carly remains on sick leave this week, therefore Emma will support the Dragonfly Group.  

Christine is on sick leave until Thursday and Siobhan is on bereavement leave until Wednesday.  We are awaiting confirmation of temporary cover to support the nursery.

Jackie is delivering Play on Pedals training to colleagues within NLC early learning and childcare establishments.

Jennifer and Liz will be supporting in the early level playroom all week whilst Jackie is delivering play on pedals.

Tuesday 20th October 2015

Mary Ann, Sensory Support Teacher will be in the early level playroom this morning.

Wednesday 21st October 2015

Yvonne Quigg, Pre Five Learning Support Teacher will be in the early level playroom both morning and afternoon.

Forest School session with Nicola and Susan this morning. (Please note this this may be postponed due to current staffing levels.)

Thursday 22nd October 2015

Parents transition to primary school session at Calderhead High School 9.30 am till 11.15 am or 1.20 pm – 3 pm. Creating a Purposeful Transition.

Parent and child Big Chef Little Chef session with Jen Dawson in Calderhead Community Centre. 9.30 am or 1.30 pm.

Friday 23rd October 2015

Forest School session this afternoon with Nicola and Susan.

Infant massage with Christine in the Sunshine Room at 2.30 pm.

On Friday 30th October there will be an opportunity for your child to come to nursery in fancy dress to participate in some Halloween experiences.  Please note that this will be a normal session. Could we ask that children do not wear any scary masks which may frighten others.  Thanks.

Amanda will be supporting the Caterpillar Group and Lauren in the Rainbow Room this morning whilst Christine and Elaine are preparing for the forthcoming Book Bug Family Rhyme Time Sessions.

Tuesday 6th Oct

Susan will be attending speech and language training today.

Wednesday 7th Oct

Forest School sessions with Nicola and Susan.

This is the last week of the early level Family Learning Play on Pedals sessions, we hope that you have thoroughly enjoyed supporting your child’s growing skill, confidence and development.

Monday 14th September

Lynn is on annual leave for the next two weeks.

Christine and Elaine will be attending the North Lanarkshire Book Bug Shared Practice event in Coatbridge.  Jennifer and Liz will be supporting the nursery today.

Tuesday 15th September

Jackie is delivering Play on Pedals within NLC establishments, therefore Sandra Ferguson, Head of Centre Newmains Family Learning Centre will be supporting the life and work of the nursery today.

Parents information session for those children who will be participating in the Forest School.

Jennifer and Liz will be supporting the nursery today.

Wednesday 16th September

Jennifer and Liz will be supporting the nursery today.

All practitioners will be undertaking Childsmile training at the end of the day.

Jen Dawson Home Link Worker Community Learning and Development

Jen Dawson, CLD Home Link Worker has arranged to come into the centre on Wednesday 16th September, to undertake a small informal consultation with all parents and carers to discuss the types of Family Learning opportunities and experiences which she is able to provide.

There is a link to Jen’s flyer which provides more information and a contact number should you wish to speak with Jen direct or for more information speak to your child’s key worker.

We hope that you will join Jen at 8.50 am and 1.10 pm in the Staff Room of the early level playroom.
