Today at assembly we had the pleasure of being visited by Sam Hunter and his lovely dog, Kip, who were representing Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The pupils were mesmerised by the beautiful golden labrador as they were taught how guide dogs help improve the lives of those they work for.
Sam told us about how Kip helps look after him and keep him safe, especially when crossing roads or using public transport. Sam also explained how he looks after Kip, and gave us some interesting information on how guide dogs are trained. We learned that Sam also has a retired guide dog, Marco, who lives with him and Kip.
We also learned how Kip knows whether he’s working or not, which was fascinating!
Thank you so much for coming to visit, Sam and Kip…you are welcome back any time!
