Primary 3

31.3.25

P2/3 and P3 were so happy to be back at the Marsh this week. We explored with our friends, climbed trees and much more. At base camp we made nature shooting stars and used clay to make planets, stars, and moons as part of our space topic. Mrs Merrison and Miss Reid were so impressed with the teamwork on display especially when pushing our friends on the rope swing and spotting each other for tree climbing. Just look at the Ravenswood DREAM in action in our pictures.

24.3.25

This week P2/3 and P3 started learning about space so we made our outdoor learning, space themed. We used our knowledge of the Solar System to draw planets, moons, and suns in chalk. We made stars out of sticks and served up some tasty treats in the space cafe. “This was the best outdoor learning day ever!” – LSm P2/3 (more amazing space pictures to come next week).
P2/3 and P3 have also been learning about the holy month of Ramadan. We learned how Muslims fast during this time as well as pray more often and do good deeds. This week we learned all about Eid al-Fitr and made connections between this celebration and celebrations in other religions. We made Eid Lanterns and designed our own Mendhi patterns.

17.3.25

This week P2/3 and P3 have been learning how to programme Micro-bits. Young STEM Leaders from P6 prepared a series of activities for us to complete and we had a great time together.
Later this week we started a new topic on Space. We learned about the Earth rotating on its axis and how this results in night and day. We made models to demonstrate this, and some pupils decided to make the Earth and Sun out of Lego.

10.3.25

P2/3 and P3 took part in World Book Day. We spent some quality time reading with our friends and then made book marks and triaramas of our favourite scene.
We have been learning about Knights and Castles and took part in an experiment to find the poison in the King’s chalice. The cabbage juice in the ice cubes created a reaction with the different liquids and changed their colour to reveal the danger.
We have also been learning all about adjectives. We played headbands, found adjectives in our favourite books and picked adjectives to describe different pictures.

Golden Book, February

Mrs H had a wonderful morning with learners from P2/3 ad P3 for Golden Book today.  They WOWED her with their learning about Scotland and their dedication to reading.  She was overjoyed when they linked their learning to the school vision and values…DREAM!  We can live, learn and love when we follow the DREAM!  Click below to see their work.

Golden Book, December

Miss R had the BEST time with these Primary 2/3 Golden Book-ers! They shared all of the skills they have been learning at the Marsh, including teaching Miss R the safety stance for making s’mores, as well all of their hard work during Christmas Enterprise. Thank you very much for sharing your learning with me, I am SO impressed!

Miss Purdon thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Primary 2/3 and Primary 3’s Golden Book group.  They shared everything they had learned about Place Value in Numeracy and are very passionate about making a difference in our world after learning about Global Goals.

Here is an image of the Golden Book record for October 2023:

P2/3 and P3 WOWED Mrs H during golden book. Christmas enterprise chat was excellent and their knowledge about the Titanic was incredible! You guys ROCK! 💛💙
