Wanted!

This week p1/2 revisited our Minibeast Hotel to see if any little creatures had decided to make it their home. We saw worms, woodlouse, beetles and a slug. We were hoping to find some hedgehogs, frogs or ladybirds so some problem solving children came up with the idea of making posters to persuade these minibeasts to come and live in our hotel. The next day we created “Wanted” posters using our most persuasive language. The results were fantastic and we will position them around our hotel to encourage the wildlife of Ravenswood to seek shelter in the cold winter months.

On Wednesday we went to search our Minibeast hotel- hoping to find some hibernating hedgehogs.

Marvellous Maths

This week we learned how to add tens and units numbers. We enjoyed using the Base 10 materials and Compare Bears to help us calculate the totals.

Using QR Codes, we self-assessed our work and could easily identify the learning we had achieved.

Excellent Enterprise

It has been a busy week for the Primary 3 ‘Merry Makers’. We have been researching, planning and creating our products to sell at the Christmas Fayre. We learned about the different skills needed to run a business, and the different roles within a company. In our business teams we worked cooperatively to make important business decisions. Our Market Research team helped us to decide on the best products to sell, while our Sales time researched competitor prices. The Product Design and Product Manufacturing teams worked especially hard to create package labels for our product. We then pitched our product to Ms Coull and blew her socks off as we secured a stall at the Christmas Fayre!

We can’t wait to start selling our super products, and we hope you visit our stall on the 28th of November.

Christmas Enterprise- Super Santa Logo

Our enterprising children in primary 1/2 have set up a company to sell Christmas decorations at our school’s Christmas Fayre. Our children had previously decided upon our name- Super Santas and one of our clever primary 2 girls designed our winning logo. This week we worked cooperatively to choose the perfect colours to make our logo really stand out.
