Homework 06.02 – 19.02

  • Tomorrow the children will have football training in the afternoon.  Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing and footwear with them.   Thanks
  • Next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are school holidays.  Homework is not due in till the following Monday (the 19th)

Primary 2

Maths – Time

  • Months of the year and Days of the week – revise writing/saying/chanting these in order.
  • Time poster – Write down all you know about time – where we see it, why we need it, when we use it etc
  • Ready, set, go! – Set a timer, on your phone, oven, TV see how quickly they can tidy up given area or .jumps, skips they can do in 1, 3 and 5 minutes. Talk about the difference in length of time.

Literacy –

  • Reading – Read your book every night and remember to bring it in to school the next day. Look for tricky words in your book and practise them at home with an adult.  Can you find these tricky words in any of your other books at home?
  • Spelling words –    are    now     see       will

Write each word 3 times – fancy writing/bubble writing/rainbow writing    (LOOK, SAY, COVER, WRITE AND CHECK).

  • Phonics game – have a go at this ea game
  • Phonicsea sound.  Practise writing/making words featuring the ea sound ( meat, seat, sea etc)

Other

  • Internet Safety – This week is internet safety week. Talk to your child about staying safe online.
  • Cumbernauld – Last week we focused on Scotland, this week we are focusing on our town Cumbernauld.  Write 2/3 sentences about what you like about Cumbernauld.

Primary 3

Maths – Time

  • Ready, set, go! – Set a timer, on your phone, oven, TV see how quickly they can tidy up given area , jumps, skips they can do in 1, 3 and 5 minutes. Talk about the difference in length of time.
  • 2 times table and 5 times table – continue to practise writing/singing/chanting the 2 and 5 times table.
