A great first day!
Well done to all our new P1s who settled so well today and to all the other children in P2-7 for being such good role models and welcoming the new pupils to our lovely school today.
At assembly today, we learned that we need to have “grit” to improve and to learn. Watch the link and find out about the importance of “grit”.
Remember school closes at 1pm today.

Mrs Forbes seeking sponsors.
Mrs Forbes and her family are doing a 5k run on 26th June to raise money for SiMBA, which is a stillbirth charity based in Edinburgh. All money raised will be going towards a bereavement suite in Edinburgh as well as the cost of making memory boxes for stillborn babies. While nothing can make such a terrible experience easier, the memory boxes can provide great comfort to parents who have to go home without their baby. All sponsors would be greatly appreciated! Anyone wishing to sponsor Mrs Forbes should make their pledge/donation directly to her.
Lucy’s cake arrives at school!
On Friday Lucy visited The Royal Yacht Britannia. She was treated as a VIP for the day, saw her cake made and had photos taken with celebrity chef Tom Kitchen!
Today staff from the Royal Yacht Britannia and Poppy Scotland made a special delivery to Loch Tay base, bringing the cake for the Queen’s 90th birthday made from Lucy’s award winning design and art prizes for the whole class to enjoy! Look out for more photos in the Airdrie Advertiser too!
