This week the children in Primary 6 have been learning about the properties of 3D shapes. They have been using polydron to construct different 3D shapes and to find as many different nets of a cube as possible. Here are some pictures of us investigating shapes.

Our Favourite Website
The boys and girls in Room 14 have chosen Sumdog as their favourite website. On this website you can create your own avatar and play lots of cool maths and literacy games. This week our class has been entered into a North Lanarkshire wide competition, where we get to play against children from other schools in our authority. Also, each child who answers 100 questions will receive a new outfit for their avatar.
This is a screenshot playing the Dress Down game on Sumdog. You have to answer questions and if you get them right you get to drag the clothes from the answer onto your own avatar or anyone else’s in the game.
Charles Rennie Mackintosh Inspired Artwork
The boys and girls in Room 14 have been learning about Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Over the past few weeks they have been looking at his artwork and have created pictures in the style he used. This week they have created their own drawings inspired by Mackintosh’s most famous “Glasgow Rose” designs.
Have a look at some of their wonderful work!

Palm Tree Paradise Island – Our Water Community
Primary 6 in Dunrobin are doing a Global Storyline topic called “Our Water: Our Life”. Throughout this topic we will be learning all about water wants and needs throughout the world. We will also be learning through Drama and have created our very own community called Palm Tree Paradise Island, where our single water source is a well in the centre of our island that is filled with water from an aquifer down below. We brought all of our suggestions as to how our island should look and drew them on the board beore creating a frieze of our community.
Each child in our class has created their own character who lives and works on this island and each family has its own responsibility for taking care of our water source.
