This week has been a short but busy week in Primary 5.

In taught writing we wrote narrative stories and tried to include adjectives and connectives to add detail to them.

In Maths we looked at subtraction and at the different strategies we can use to solve a subtraction problem.

Did you Know?

To add nine to a number you can use the strategy add ten and take away one.

29 +9=

29 + 10 =39

39 -1= 38

This rule can also be used to add 19

14 +19=

14+20=34

34-1=33

 

In Art we created autumn umbrellas, with the focus on line and pattern.

We are looking forward to our visit to  Wishaw Sports Centre next week.
