Happy New Year!

In art this term we have been looking at Kandinsky’s Circles and making our own version.  We  had to draw circles of different sizes and colours and then we experimented with different colour combinations.  They look really effective on black paper.

Our topic is about the Past and so far we have learned about toys and schools in the past.  Schools in the past were really strict and you could get the cane or belt if you broke a rule.  Children learned by chanting words and facts.  They had to sit in rows facing the teacher.  We had a go at sitting in rows like we were a class from the past.  Some of us preferred sitting in rows because we had a partner and it was easier to work.  Children had to stand in the corner wearing a Dunce cap if they got something wrong or were lazy.  They also had to write with their right hand even if they were left handed.  About half of us would have liked to have gone to school in the past.
