Old Monkland Primary School & Nursery Class

The whole Old Monkland family came together to celebrate the retiral of Mrs. Lloyd after 37 years teaching in our school. Current staff and pupils, as well as former staff and pupils gave Mrs. Lloyd the send off she deserved. We hope Mrs. Lloyd enjoys a very relaxing retirement.

Primary 2 visited the Tall Ship in Glasgow. They participated in a workshop all about the story of The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch. Mrs Grinling read the boys and girls a story and they got to have an adventure aboard the ship.

Here are Primary 3 working hard on their weekly spelling and phonics words. Miss Ferguson does a spell check with the boys and girls every Friday to ensure they are making great use of all the new skills being taught.

Here is our new primary 1 boys and girls with their Primary 7 buddies. The big buddies have been working hard to help their younger buddy settle into our school. They help them in the playground and complete some classroom jobs together.

Primary 2 have been working hard on our balance and body control in Gymnastics. We have been working on travelling, rolling and jumping using different apparatus.

Primary 7 attended their first P7 – S1 transition event at Coatbridge High. They all worked hard on a number of activities with the PE department.
