Old Monkland Primary School & Nursery Class

Primary 4/5 have been making different types of patterns. They used coloured tiles to try create different patterns and shapes.

Primary 2 have been visited by the local Play Rangers during P.E sessions. The Play Rangers have been helping to teach the boys and girls different skills through playing games.

Just a reminder to our parents that the school is closed next week for the October week. We wish all of our pupils and families a relaxing break.

Primary 7 have been using the internet to research the leaders of different countries for their World War 2 topic. They worked with a partner to gather as many exciting facts as they could.

Here is this weeks Star of the Week. The boys and girls were presented with their trophy and star counter at this weeks assembly by Miss McFadden.

Please remember we are holding a Parent Workshop evening on Thursday 10th October 2016. This will give Parents / Guardians an opportunity to come along and visit their child’s class where they can meet the teacher and find out about the learning taking place. There will also be an opportunity to find out further information about our new “Target 21” initiative.

As detailed in the October update, we will be holding a Halloween Movie Night on Thursday 27th October. On Monday 10th October, pupils will be issued with a letter to purchase tickets for this event. Please check school / Homework bags on Monday for this letter. Miss McFadden has informed our boys and girls about this upcoming event at assembly.

Every week pupils are awarded the Star of the Week trophy if they have demonstrated to their teacher that they are trying their very best. The award can be given for a variety of positive reasons. Each week, a pupil from P1/2 to P7 will receive the award which is presented at our whole school assembly.
