Old Monkland Primary School & Nursery Class

Our Primary 7 pupils were issued with their new Leavers Hoodies. The boys and girls can now wear their hoodies to school in the month of June and on our outings.

We had another fantastic turnout at our recent Showcase learning Event. Thank you to all of our parents and families for the fantastic support.

Primary 3/4 went on a trip to the fantastic T-Rex Experience at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow. As part of their class topic on Dinosaurs, they learned lots of new information all about Bones and fossils.

After our fantastic collection for our local food bank, we received this lovely letter thanking our families for their generous donations.

Old Monkland Primary hosted daffodil tea as part of our Easter celebrations and we had a collection for ‘Coatbridge Community Foodbank’. A huge thank you to all of our families as we managed to raise a fantastic number of items for a great cause.

We held a whole school reading event where we invited parents and families to come along and participate in reading activities with their children. We had another fantastic turnout!

Primary 2 were pretending to be characters from the Katie Morag books. Some children were in the ‘hot-seat’ and they had to answer questions from the audience while pretending they were one of the characters. They were also acting out scenes from the book and doing ‘freeze-frames’.
