Primary 1/2

Good morning everyone, I hope you are having a nice week so far. Well done to those of you working hard on Sumdog, and completing your home learning tasks. I know its not easy but try to do a few things each day.

As its Thursday again, I thought I would remind you that Julia Donaldson will be reading another story live on the Gruffalo Facebook page at 4 p.m. Today she is reading Detective Dog. We haven’t read this story in class, so I hope you enjoy it.

Remember there are fun activities on BBC bitesize everyday for you to do to. I have attached a few rainbow experiments you can try out too. I hope to see more of you log into Teams today. If you are having trouble logging in please get in touch.

Take care and have a good day

Miss Sharkey

P7 Science

Hi P7,

Before I talk science with you, I had hoped to give you a wee reminder about getting involved with Microsoft Teams. As of next Monday we will be posting lots of learning over there as well as on here too.

All you need is your GLOW username and password and you then add the Microsoft Teams tile to your launch pad. I have downloaded the Teams App to my Smart Phone and logged in that way, it is really easy once you get going!  For those of you who are unsure how to do this, please let me or Mr Henderson know and we will do our best to help.

Science

In class we were learning about transparent, translucent and opaque objects during our mini topic on light and shadows. I have created a wee revision task for you and at the end of it there is an extra challenge with a mini science investigation. I tried it out and the results were interesting! All the information you need is here: Science Task – Translucent, transparent and opaque PDF

Take care, and hopefully chat to some more of you on Teams soon!

Miss Miller 🙂

Primary 3/4 – 13.5.20

Hello Primary 3/4

As you know on Monday 18th May we are moving over to Microsoft Teams to continue to help you with your learning. Well done to those of you who have managed to set this up already and for those of you who haven’t managed it yet Mr Henderson has posted lots of useful information on it further down the blog! You need your Glow username and password to login to Glow then you have to add the Microsoft Teams tile to your Launch Pad. You can also download the Microsoft Teams app on an ipad/tablet/phone and again use your Glow username and password to login.

For those of you who are unsure how to do this or need your Glow username and password please leave a comment below or email  Mr Henderson and someone will be able to help!

The Microsoft Teams tile looks like this:

I have left a Welcome message on the Primary 3/4 Teams page so if you do manage to get on to Teams it would be great if you could leave a wee message to let me know you managed to get set up. Well done to those of you who have done it already!

Have a nice day, looking forward to hearing from you!

Miss Marchant 🙂

Primary 1/2

Good morning Primary 1/2, I hope you are all well, it was nice to chat to some of you on Microsoft Teams yesterday and I hope to see more of you there over the next few days.
If you can, choose some activities from your home learning grids, or try the lessons on BBC bitesize. Today there is a fun science lesson all about animals. I have also set new challenges for you to try on Sumdog.
Stay safe everyone.

Primary 2/3

Good morning P2/3

Teams
Well done to the pupils who have managed to log into our Team so far. We’ve been able to catch up with each other and share some pictures which has been really nice to see. If you have been unable to access Teams so far, please let us know. We’ll be using Teams from Monday 18th but you can get logged in and familiarised with it before this date. Once you have first logged in, if you could post a wee ‘hello’ that would be fantastic!

Sum Dog
Your new Sum Dog challenges are now all available, remember to have a go at these to support what we have previously learned in class.
Well done to Holly who won our first Grammar challenge last week with 131 correct answers.

I thought I would share this picture with you. My friend likes to build things and made himself a picnic bench… for squirrels! He’s even had a few visitors. He was kind enough to make me one so I’m on the look out for wildlife in my garden now too. Have you managed to spot any wildlife while you’ve been at home? I’d love to hear about it!

Hi boys and girls,
Hope you are all safe and well and have managed to enjoy the sunshine. Miss Grant and I have found some French games for you to play to continue practising talking and listening.

Primary 1-3

https://www.digitaldialects.com/iPad/French.htm

On this site click on the French lesson 1 to learn greeting and feelings. You can also hear some native french speakers.

A follow up task – draw a picture of your family and label it with the french words from family members.

Play bingo with a family member, switching turns to be the bingo caller.

Draw a rainbow for your window and label it with french colours.

Primary 4-7

https://www.french-games.net

There are some fun games on this website also remember to practise numbers up to 50, feelings, family members, weather. You could also use google translate to help with pronunciation.

You could also look at animal vocabulary or an area where you feel you need to practise

Topics examples-
Family members
Colours
Numbers
Weather
Greetings
Classroom objects

Have fun and stay safe!
