Primary 4/5 – 22.6.20

Good morning Primary 4/5!

I can’t believe we are in our final week of term before we finish up for the summer! How exciting!

As we finish up on Wednesday, there will be no spelling words or Sumdog challenges.

I would like for you to keep working away at our summer learning grid, make sure to check out the ‘my year’ task. I would love to see what you have enjoyed and learned in P4/5.

You also have a ‘Disney Virtual Trip’ which I uploaded last week for you all that has lots of fun activities!

Remember you can find all of our class resources on teams within the ‘class materials’ folder. I would love to hear from you all before we finish up, so if you can, please leave a little comment on teams.

Have a great day boys and girls!

Happy Friday Primary 3/4

I cannot believe our last full week of this year is coming to an end today and we only have a few short days left before the Summer Holidays! I hope you have all had a great week. It has been lovely to chat to some of you on our class Teams page 🙂

Sumdog

Well done to those of you who completed our final Maths and Spelling challenges on Sumdog. I hope you enjoyed them! Look out for some coins from me later on today 🙂 The top three children for both the Maths and Spelling challenges this week were Skye, Robyn and Enya. Well done girls 🙂

Next week

Next week there will be no Sumdog challenges or Spelling words but please look out for some fun things on the blog and on our class Teams page 🙂 If you can I would love to hear what your favourite memories of Primary 3/4 have been so I can put them altogether. Remember you can leave a comment below or post on our class Teams page. Thank you to those of you who have done this already!

Have a brilliant weekend, missing you all lots

Primary 2/3

Hi everyone, Friday again!

The teachers have been back in school this week getting ready for coming back to school in August. I hope you have enjoyed taking part in some Virtual Disney Trip activities. Well done and thank you to everyone who took part in this week’s Sum Dog assessments. I have sent you some coins for participating.

Next week is a short week and our last week as we finish up on Wednesday for the summer holidays. I’ll be uploading some summer themed activities you might want to try at home.

Your report cards were posted last night and should be with you soon. Some information for parents was also posted on the school website earlier in the week about returning to school in August which might be helpful to have a look at if you haven’t already.

Have a lovely weekend boys and girls, speak to you on Monday!

Morning P7!

I hope you are all doing OK, thinking of you all! We are so disappointed that we aren’t able to celebrate Leavers in our usual way, but we are planning to be in touch with you today by phone about information for next week.

Yesterday Phase 2 was announced and I thought you might like to see this visual break down of what is involved with it.

Have a great weekend!

Update

Hi Everyone

Apologies I have not commented personally for a while , as you can imagine it is very busy in school . I hope you all managed to read my update letter Mr Henderson posted for me earlier this week.

I appreciate this doesn’t give all the answers we are all waiting for but as stated I am still hoping to be able to issue Individual Return To School Letters next week outlining classes , groupings , days to attend and gates etc.

We have submitted our plans for this and are hoping that signage and playground markings will be put in place over the Summer Holidays for pupil return.

For our Nursery families , I believe letters will be sent out very soon as advised by NLC , to outline  information . Nursery Places have to be reviewed in line with the number of children that we can have in Nursery each session, to match new adult /child ratios to support Health and Safety guidelines at this time.

We also have to gather information from families , both returning and new to be sure we are catering for the needs of priority families in the first instance , as your letters will explain more fully.

Of course, where possible we want to try to support families who have children at  nursery and at school too.

Nursery children will of course be able to be escorted to the Nursery with an adult , but access gates will have to be restricted to adhere to guidelines for all. At present Nursery children and families will be able to use the Nursery gate and path which leads to the Nursery Entrance only. I will keep you posted if this changes over the coming weeks.

Staff will be in touch with P.7 families again tomo  – we are very aware this is not the term we wanted for them but really are working hard to organise something for them for now!

Thank you again for all of your support and kind words at this time. Very much appreciated by us all.

Take care for now and as soon as I can , further information will be shared.

As always  – ht@oldmonkland.n-lanark.sch.uk is the best way to get in touch and I will get back to you as soon as I can

Miss McFadden HT
