Old Monkland Primary School & Nursery Class

Hi everyone,

Hope you have all had a nice holiday and are safe and well.

Please find below our school and nursery returning to school arrangements that we can now share with you inline with advice from the Scottish Government and NLC. We will keep you posted as soon as we can if any of this information changes before schools return. Staff will be in school on Tuesday 11th August should any of you need clarification about your child’s specific class details. We will update you with staffing details as we hope to receive them this week.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon, we have missed you all.

Information on Return to school-Aug 20 4.8 FINAL

Hi All ,

We have made it to the end of term and wanted to thank all of our children and families for such fantastic support throughout school closure. It has been difficult not to be able to share exact plans for return as yet, but as you’ll all be aware information is changing so often at present.

For now , we have posted out letters to all Nursery and School Families with Individual  Return To School Arrangements for each child , under the current guidelines . If this should change information will be available on NLC Website and we will of course keep you updated on Old Monkland arrangements on this website and through our App.

We will be in touch with our all of our new P.1 parents by telephone call, prior to children’s first day , to confirm arrangements for their first big day at Primary !

We thoroughly appreciated our families bringing our P.7s  up to see us yesterday and we hope our Graduates were pleased with their Leavers Goodie Bags. It looks like all pupils and families are  happy to have a celebration when restrictions are lifted , so as soon as we can we will be in touch to arrange this. For now we wish all of our P.7 class every best wish for the future , we are so proud of you all and it has been an honour to be part of your journey to Secondary School .

For all families, our Glow Teams will close tonight to enable us to reorganise Teams into new class structures for August. Thank you for all your contributions and making us smile from home with photos, examples of work , stories and comments. You really are a fantastic community and we look forward to getting back into our Old Monkland Partnerships again as soon as we possibly can.

Primary 7,

Just wanted to say it has been a pleasure being your teacher over the last 1/2 years. I thoroughly enjoyed the laughs and jokes we had whilst working hard and I have seen a huge progression in every single one of you. I am so gutted we couldn’t visit Kilbowie and have a proper leavers celebration. We will definitely make up for that when we can have a celebration in the new school year.

I wish you all the very best of luck at High School and I know you will all continue to be superstars. I will hopefully see some of you on any visits I have to the high school in the future. I hope you say hello!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted thank each and every one of you for being superstars this year. I have absolutely loved working with you all and getting to know you and your families too. I know this year hasn’t been what we expected, but I am so proud of you all and how you have continued to learn from home and stay positive. I have loved that we have used Teams to stay in contact with one another and I hope you have enjoyed it too. As my class know, in August I will be working in a new school, but I have asked the OMPS teachers to keep me updated on how you are all getting on. I’m sure you will continue to be wonderful next year.

To the rest of OMPS, a big thanks to you all for the last two years. You are a fantastic bunch of pupils, families and staff. P7s – You are going to love high school and I wish you all the best for your next adventure.

Happy Summer Holidays boys and girls, each one of you is amazing and I have loved being your Teacher this year! I have lots of lovely memories of the fun times we had in our class and I hope you have too. I am so sorry that we missed out on our final term together, however I want you to know that every single member of staff in our school is looking forward to the day when we can welcome you all back safely.

Hi Primary 7, just wanted to say that I am thinking of you all today. I have known most of you since you were wee tinies in the the Nursery and have watched you all grow to be amazing young people! I am sorry that you missed out on so much this term but I have no doubt that Miss McFadden will ensure that you get the OMPS send off you deserve when its safe to do so!

I know that that our year together got cut short and didn’t end like we had planned, but I have really enjoyed getting to keep in contact with you.

I just wanted to let you know it has been a pleasure to be your teacher this year. I have absolutely loved getting to know each and every one of you and we have made great memories together. I am extremely proud of you all and I know you will do amazing when you move on to your new classes in August!
