Kilbowie
Kilbowie is owned by North Lanarkshire Council and managed by NL Leisure Ltd, providing 5-day courses mainly for Primary 7 pupils, though not exclusively as weekends and some weeks are available for other groups.
Kilbowie is situated close to the shore of  the Sound of Kerrera in a scenic location, two Kilometres south of Oban.Centre email size
The centre can accommodate 112 students in rooms of 4 beds and has single rooms for visiting staff on every floor.
The centre is ideally located for every sort of shoreline and land based study and outdoor activity.

Climbing in Kilbowie
 We   have a good climbing crag a short drive away  which is suitable for all age groups, as well as access to an indoor climbing wall. We can also offer tree climbing onsite.

Gorge walking in Kilbowie
One of the most outrageous of our activities and certainly one of the wettest. You will be negotiating rocky streams, waterfalls and other obstacles trying to stay dry for as long as possible. Generally ropes are not required although sometimes they can be used as handrails or for traversing over the water.

Skiing in Kilbowie
We are lucky to have enough to have our very own dry ski slope. It’s the ideal slope for beginners to the sport of Skiing.

Oreinteering in Kilbowie
We have our own onsite orienteering course as well as access to a large course in Sutherlands grove, a local forest, where we also do some of our gorge walking.

Canoeing & Kayaking in Kilbowie
A wide range of canoeing activities is available from our scenic base on the shores of the Sound of Kerrera. You may be introduced to river kayaking or open Canadian canoeing or sea kayaking.

Coasteering in Kilbowie
Everything you were told never to do as a child by the sea. This is not simply swimming in the sea, climbing on the rocks or cliff jumping. This is a novel mix of exploration, adventure and adrenaline at the level you want it to be.

We venture out to various beautiful locations around the Argyll countryside. We can go for half day walks , or full day adventures.

Join Derek, for an exciting , fun filled activity, feed the wild birds, hunt some wild animals and learn to appreciate and understand the environment in Kilbowie’s unique surroundings.

Sailing in Kilbowie
We have a Drascombe Gig, which can take a large group out  for a sail around the Sound of Kerrera. Good for team work, the children can steer and crew and enjoy the wind and spray on their faces.Keep your eyes open for seals and sea birds.

Bushcraft in Kilbowie
Venture off, deep in to the forest, or get marooned on Kerrera.you will have to survive bu building shelter, lighting fire, finding food & water. The adventure is just begining.

our latest evening activity is the Crystal Maze. You work in your activity group, carrying out various tasks, if you complete the task, you win a Kilbowie Crystal. The team with the most Crystals at the end, WINS!!!
