Science Clips – I have a science clip of an easy experiment you can try at home. It may help you understand why social distancing is important.

Puzzle  Well done to the children who found all the weird things happening in last weeks picture. Maryam was the winner. This week is a practical puzzle – don’t post your answer in the general area – you’ll give it away! Have a go, take a photo of your solutions and wait until Friday!

You will need a 5p, 10p, 20p and 50p. It has to be the newer minted coins with part of a shield on the tails side. Can you arrange the coins to show the complete shield?

This is a great time to follow your own interests. You get to choose your own topic. You may be interested in science, history, technology, art, the environment the list could go own… We are very lucky lots of websites are now free to use because of lock down. The BBC have daily Bitesize topics covering everything from Spanish to star gazing. YouTube for kids has suitable an interesting videos on loads of subjects. Authors are reading their books online. There are lots of sports stars sharing ideas about keeping fit and trying inside sports.. Baking, crafts, even watching the penguins at the zoo! We have the chance to explore and learn what you are interested in. Take time to do this and let people know what you are doing via our chat area.

Create a May Altar

If you can create your own May altar, some people create a little area in the garden with lots of flowers.

Try to say the rosary at some time during the day, either yourself our with your family.

Watch the art video on drawing flowers. Can you use the technique to create your own image for the May altar.

Thank you to the children who posted their answers in the assignment area. I have been able to give you personal feedback. Here are the answers to the tasks set this week. You can correct and then self-assess. Are you going to give yourself a green or yellow. No reds! We don’t need red because we all tried. Remember to explain to mum or dad why you think you should have a green/yellow. Do they agree?

I can see more of you are joining the teams area which is wonderful.

Once in I recommend you download the App it is free and makes things a bit quicker for you. You will see a general chat area..please join in! Also a channel (Microsoft’s name for folder) for science clip and activities and other for silly things..please go on and see what I and others have posted.

You can post your answers to the assignments in the assignment area. This way I am able to give you personal feedback. I can see who has viewed, who has handled in and who has yet to do the task. Don’t worry about the due dates you can work your way through the assignments for this week and last week.

If you have any problems or questions you can post them in the assignment or chat areas and I will get back to you. I am able to check posts every week day. The only days there will be a delay is when I am working in the Hub school.

Welcome back to class Primary 4. I hope you enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend. This week will be a little different. I am posting your key literacy and numeracy tasks in our class Teams Area. I have also posted some fun science activities to do or watch. In the fun area I have posted a puzzle. You need to use your observation skills to find the clues. Some good news! Do you remember the video on food groups with the fast talking lady? We all thought she was having a massive sugar rush. Well she’s back! Check out the science area in Teams.
