Please don’t worry if you have any library books due back this week. You can hand them back whenever normal service is resumed!
In the meantime, read or reread the book, share them with your family members or even share your thoughts with me on the Library Teams. If you are not planning to do any of that, please put the book in your school bag now! Keep yourself and the book safe till the school reopens.

The Scottish Book Trust has kindly sent the Library a free set of the shortlisted titles for this year’s Scottish Teenage Book Prize – and a voucher to buy additional books. What a fantastic early Christmas present!
This means there are plenty of copies if you (and your friends) wish to take part. All you have to do is read the three books between now and March and then vote for your favourite.
Speak to Ms Boyd or your English teacher to borrow a set of the books.

Congratulations to Kenzie in S1 for winning the Book Week Scotland competition. Kenzie designed a fantastic Alice in Wonderland mask which will be made into the real thing for her to wear.
The standard was so high that there were also two runners-up: Ellie and Paige who have won selection boxes. Well done to everyone who entered. It was a tough decision!
And the fab runners up: Ellie’s Fing design and Paige’s Roald Dahl theme.

If you’re a fan of the BBC drama His dark materials, check out the series in either book or graphic novel form. The first book in the series is The golden compass while the graphic novels are titled Northern lights Volume One & Volume Two. You don’t need an alethiometer to find them in the Library: just ask Ms Boyd!

Fancy wearing a face mask that you designed yourself? Design a facemask on a bookish theme and the winning entry will be made into a real mask! You can design a mask around a book, a character, a series, a genre, an author, etc – anything book-related!
More information is in the Word document below the image. Please note that you don’t have to use the template in the document. You can use any paper and hand in your entry or upload it to Teams. Closing date is by the end of school on Monday 30th November.
