Soup

As part of our Developing the Young Workforce week, our P6/7 class visited Albert Bartletts.  Back in school we used the potatoes and onions we grew in our grounds to create our own soup.  It was great and we are now thinking of what we could make next.

World of Work Online

All P5-7 pupils have been on World of Work this week answering questions about their skills and personalities.  This information is saved and then gives them some career recommendations.  Children have been surprised by some of the options and are now thinking about wider career choices.

Painting

A group of pupils started painting the boulders and rocks outside our school today with Mr Murray.  We painted them school colours red and white and we are hoping to paint our vision and values on them.  Thank you to Barron Aggregates for continuing to support us and providing the rocks.

House Elections

Well done to all our candidates who presented a speech to become this years House Captains.  We were so proud of all of our pupils for speaking confidently in front of an audience.  Once the speeches were done, it was time for the rest of us to go into Room 7 and fill out our ballot papers for our best candidate.

Congratulations to our successful pupils.

Sports Champions Visit

We had a Sports Champion visit today from Louise Renicks, Commonwealth gold medalist for judo.  She spent time with classes doing  some circuit training and then demonstrated some judo techniques.  She then spent some time talking to pupils about how she achieved her success and how she had to work extremely hard to get there.  She linked her hard work and dedication back to some of our own school values.  Thank you to everyone for their enthusiasm and for parents and friends for sponsoring children to take part.

Gardening

Well done to everyone today who helped with planting our raised beds.  We have started a wildflower garden, sunflower area, sensory garden and some classes planted vegetables.  Thanks again to our Parent Council for their support with this.
