Kilsyth Academy News – 22/12/15

On Monday, Crazy Day was a great success and was enjoyed by everyone who participated. During the morning, the pupils participated in a wide variety of activities including the Techy Carnival, PE Gladiators, Table Tennis, Christmas Crafts, Henna Tattoos, Cinema, Robotics, Giant Games, and Beauty Salon. In the afternoon, everyone was entertained by the staff and S6 pupils, with another amazing Crazy Day Show featuring the Black Eyed PEs, Guy Love, KA’s version of the John Lewis Advert, Take Me Out, Isny Disney, Ringle Bell Jock, Just Dance, Pitch Perfect, Bills and Dirty Dancing. This year’s winners were Pitch Perfect – congratulations to them. In addition to having great fun, the purpose behind the day was to raise money for charity. Altogether, the impressive sum of £1886 was raised and the pupil council has already chosen the three charities that will benefit – Strathcarron Hospice, SAMH and Mary’s Meals. Cheques will be presented to the charities concerned, early in the New Year. Many thanks to all staff, who worked tirelessly throughout the day, to make all these activities happen, ably assisted by S6.

On Tuesday, the school reconvened in the Hall for carol singing, in the style of ‘Stars in Their Eyes’. It was a great way to end the term and begin the Christmas holidays.

The school will re-open on Wednesday 6th January, at 8.55 a.m.
