Kilsyth Academy News – 25/06/15

We have had large numbers of pupils out of school this week, either on residential trips to Rwanda, Belgium and London or on one-day trips to M&Ds Theme Park and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. All the pupils involved have been having an amazing time and we are indebted to so many staff, who have given time so freely, to provide such a range of opportunities for our young people. During the trip to London, the group packed in visits to Thorpe Park, the O2 complex, the Houses of Parliament and theatre trips to The Commitments and The Lion King. The Belgium trip included a visit to Brugges, Flanders Field and Passchendaele Museums, the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate, Vimy Ridge and, finally, a day at Bellewaerde Theme Park. Our Rwanda group is continuing to work with Street Kids and victims of the genocide and have been undertaking a number of service projects.

Our thanks and best wishes go staff, pupils and their families, for all their hard work and support throughout the year. We hope everyone has a well-deserved rest over the summer holiday.

SQA results will be published on Tuesday 4th August and Mr Reilly will be in school on Thursday 13th August, to meet with pupils who wish to change options. Pupils should phone for an appointment time, to avoid long queues on that day.

The school will re-open for pupils on Tuesday 18th August, at 8.55 a.m.
