Hi

I can’t believe it is nearly the end of term and I have been here for a year, how time has flown!

We have a number of activities happening over the next few weeks and I have sent emails out to provide everyone with more details.

Donations in May were £389 and we collected £712 through our Play on Pedals cycling sponsor, thank you. Most of this funding will be used to fund the end of term activities and some new resources for the outdoors.

Thank you Lisa for setting up our nursery webpage and twitter account.

I know the sun seems to have disappeared but we are sure it will be back. The advice from health professionals is that sunscreen with SPF of 30 should be applied 30 minutes before going out into the sun. Can you please ensure your child has sunscreen on before they come to nursery. If the children are out for more than 2 hours we will reapply. As part of our health policy we insist that all children and staff wear hats in the sunshine. Over the last week we have noticed a number of midges in the Forest and feel that we may need to think about applying insect repellent. We will keep you informed.

Some of the staff have volunteered to take part in ‘Half Tough Mudder’ at the end of June to raise funds for Glasgow Children’s Hospital. We would appreciate any support you can give. See display at the nursery entrance.

Due to budget cuts the council have decided to close our birth to 2yr service. This will mean that we will lose two members of our team. We have not been advised on the exact dates of the closure but it will probably be before October. As soon as we know more details I will let you know.

Remember we are closed on Thursday 23rd June for the European Referendum.

WANTED – someone to build us a small fence to create a more secure boundary for the Forest. We can supply all materials.

Thank you for your support over the last year and good luck to those moving on to other settings.

Jacquie
