Kindness Week at Holytown Primary
Sunday 13th November was kindness day. We have decided within Holytown to have a Week devoted to kindness. Pupils can receive house tokens for acts of kindness. We have kindness cards to encourage Random Acts of Kindness, so expect some unexpected kind acts both in school and at home.
We watched a short film about kindness in assembly and everyone has a Kindness takes to complete in their class, keep an eye on Twitter for updates throughout the week.

Pupil Voice
Pupil Voice is a major feature of the educational experiences we have on offer at Holytown Primary School. All pupils have a voice and have the opportunity to shape the experiences on offer.
All Pupils have a house, following consultations with pupils, parents and staff, these were named after Scottish Castles. Balmoral, Cawdor, Culzean, Duart, Fyvie and Glamis. All pupils can earn House Tokens across the week, with the winniung house receiving an extra playtime.
We also have a Pupil Council, this includes a representative from Room 5 – Room 12. The Pupil Council are actively involved in the school improvement agenda and for session 2017/18, their focus is Active Playgrounds.
Our Eco Committee have successfully gained our Eco Flag, and are continuing to work to improve the Ecological impact we have on our environment.
JRSO are pupils from P6 and P7 who have a focus on improving our knowledge and understanding of Road Safety, they are led by Mrs McLaughlin.
There are may other ways the children within the school, shape our direction of travel. We are proud of the imput of all of our children.
