Chris Ryan was born near Newcastle in 1961. He joined the SAS in 1984. During his ten years there he was involved in overt and covert operations and was also sniper team commander of the anti-terrorist team.
He wrote about his experiences in the bestseller The One That Got Away, which was adapted for screen, and since then he has written other works of non-fiction, bestselling novels and a series of childrens’ books.

Patrick Ness was born 17 October 1971 in the United States, and currently lives in London and holds dual citizenship. He is best known for his books for young adults. He has won every major prize in children’s fiction, including the Carnegie Medal twice. He’s wrote the screenplay for his book called of A Monster Calls which was released in 2016.
