Liccle Bit by Alex Wheatle

This story is about Lemar, (nicknamed Liccle Bit due to his height or lack of) and his relationships with his friends and family, living in a tough housing estate in Britain. He is a talented artist and this attracts his love interest Venetia and could be his ticket out of Crongton.

Crongton is split between 2 rival gangs and Liccle Bit and his pals Jonah and McKay do their best to avoid his area’s crew – South Crongton. But his sister’s ex-boyfriend Manjaro the crew leader tries to befriend him and recruit him.

Brilliant compelling story – likeable characters and terrific banter between friends.   ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Somerset Tsunami by Emma Carroll

I love Historical stories and Emma Carroll is the Queen of Historical Fiction. This story was inspired by a real tsunami that affected England and South Wales in 1607. In the story people were looking for someone to blame in a time of superstition and suspected witchcraft. Fortune Sharpe is accused of bewitching the sea and causing the disaster – will she be proved innocent. Read and find out!
