Making Our Own Instructions

We have been using our knowledge of instructions to create a map for our partner.

Orla: We had to plan and carry out our instructions before sharing them.

Bethany L: We might need these skills when we’re older to use a map.

Rudi: I used precise words like left, right and said exactly how many steps to take.

Greg: We had to be very detailed with our instructions. I had to tell them to move diagonally.

Fraser: We had to know our left and right to move around.

Caroline: I thought it was good because we learned a lot.

Jack: It was fun because we got to learn new things.

  1. Hopefully we get some dry days when we are back and you can use your skills to create a map of the school and see what you can find in the grounds.

  2. This was a very fun activity and I learned that you need to be very precise when you make instructions to get to places and it helped your sense of direction!!
