The whole school are having a special Literacy Week all about Magic. P1/2 are very excited. We are reading Winnie the Witch books. Today P1/2 were looking at Winnie’s house using the laptops. Then we were drawing a room from Winnie’s house using chalk. Have a look below-

Yesterday Mrs Semple and a lady called Bernadette came to our classroom to tell us about the Post Office. We all listened carefully and asked lots of interesting questions.

Hi P1/2, we loved working with you this afternoon to help you make your posters! We thought we all worked really well together and we loved teaching you to use the iPads. We hope you had fun too! Here are some pictures of our afternoon!

We have been learning about island life. Katie Morag lives above a Post Office on the island of Coll. This morning we worked in pairs to find images of post offices using the laptops. Then we discussed what we would need to make a post office in our classroom. We started to make our post office and will carry on next week. Here are some photographs.

P1/2 have been reading Katie Morag and the Tiresome Ted. Katie Morag is a girl who lives on a Scottish island. In this story she is naughty and kicks her one eyed teddy into the choppy sea. Last week we painted Tiresome Ted.

We are looking forward to reading our new Katie Morag book next.

This morning we made vegetable soup. We cooked it for 20 minutes and tried it after lunch. It was cracking.

We are learning about vegetables. They are so healthy and good for you. We all try to have 5 a day. Last week we tried sweet potato, potatoes, mushrooms, peppers, onions, celery and brussel sprouts.

I really enjoyed the Nativity dress rehearsal today. You have been working so hard. Here are some photos from today.
