Fairtrade Day

Today is a Fairtrade day in Chryston Primary.  We have been learning all about fairtrade.  We learned that fairtrade is all about treating people fairly and equally.  Fairtrade means that people get a fair rice for what we buy.  It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor.

We know that lots of things in our supermarkets are fairtrade products and we know that we have to look for the fairtrade symbol. Some of the things you can buy are bananas, chocolate, tea, coffee, rice, pineapple and lots more. These products come from all over the world like Africa and Asia.  This afternoon we got the fairtrade logo and we had to stick some coloured tissue paper on to make it the right the colour.  We are all going to look out for it.

We used some fairtrade chocolate to make shredded wheat nests.  We put some mini eggs in each nest.  We had to put them in the fridge to set. We are going to sell them at the bake sale tomorrow. They looked yummy!
