Our Senses

Yesterday afternoon we were learning more about our Senses. We found out that the brain receives messages from parts of the body (eyes, hands, tongue, nose and ears) and makes senses of the messages. Nerves carry the messages around our body.

We had stations for each of Senses and we knew which sense to use by looking at the body part picture. img_3646 img_3647 img_3648 img_3649 img_3650

Today Miss Kinloch and Mrs Mutch tried to trick our brains!!

Mrs Mutch showed us a tray with lots of things on it. We had to look at it for 10 seconds and then she covered it. She asked us to remember what was there. This was easy! But then she made it trickier she had taken some things away! We had to try and work out what was missing. It was fun!

Miss Kinloch had three cups, one hot, one cold and one room temperature. She asked for a volunteer and they had to hold the hot and the cold in different hands. They had to do this for 1 minute. Miss Kinloch checked to see if one hand was hot and the other was cold. Then they had to hold the room temperature cup, the hand that had been hot got cold and the hand that had been cold got hot! It was crazy! Our brain was confused because our nerves were sending mixed messages!

We really like our senses topic and we can’t wait to learn some more!
