Participating in Pattern

We have loved taking part in Maths Week. It’s name was Participating in Pattern. We learned about colour, shape and picture patterns.

We noticed patterns in rhyming words. We did lots of activities about rhyming words during literacy this week too. We even wrote a rhyming story about a Fat Cat on a mat.

On Thursday we had an art afternoon all about Pattern. We printed, and cut and stick to make 3 beautiful different patterns. You can see them in our class and around the school.

Some of our favourite parts of Maths Week were…

  • I’ve loved doing patterns – Sarah
  • Putting my Pattern on Twitter – Josh
  • Making my own pattern – Mylee
  • Doing my rhyming work – Nathan
  • Using the bears to make a pattern – Madison
  • Making a patterns with the pompoms – Sam & Harrison
  • Doing a dinosaur pattern – Olivia & Junior
  • Colouring in patterns – Sienna
  • Playing rhyming bingo – Ava
