This week in Maths & Numeracy we have been learning about Sharing.
We know that when we share it must even, the same, equal and fair.
We practised sharing into equal groups earlier in the week at our stations.
We have learned a special new symbol it looks like dot, line and a dot. It is called the Division Symbol but we know it means sharing!
We know that in the sum the first number is the ‘sweeties’ or amount that needs shared.
The second number is the number of ‘plates’ or groups or people they have to be shared between.
The answer is how many one person or group or plate will get.
