Primary to Secondary.
Our pupils transfer to Greenfaulds High School for their secondary education. Transition events are planned throughout Primary Seven; pupils visit the high school and the high school teachers visit us also.
Staff from the Science, PE, Maths, Gaelic and English departments of the school visit our pupils to carry out work with them. The Science department, for example, challenge us with STEM activities that get us so excited for high school!
Our pupils also visit Greenfaulds for two consecutive days in the final term of primary, during which they experience a timetable of subjects across the school, meet their teachers, buddies and guidance team.
Staff from the Support for Learning and Guidance Departments visit pupils here at Condorrat and talk about any concerns they have and offer support and reassurance about the move.
Staff from both schools meet to discuss pupil’s learning to ensure that there is an appropriate progression.
Parents are given several opportunities to meet with staff from Greenfaulds to gather information about the school, and visit the school to experience several classes.
Any of our learners who have additional needs will be involved in a more enhanced process, possibly beginning in the final term of Primary Six, which will be planned in partnership with learners, their parents, school staff and any other involved agencies.
Pupils who are not transferring to Greenfaulds will follow the activities organised by the school that they are transferring to. Information regarding learning and specific support needs will be shared as for Greenfaulds.
