Peer Tutoring
Support for Learning would like to say a massive thank you to the 33 senior pupils who have volunteered to Peer Tutor. This involves them supporting younger pupils across many subject areas, who are finding the work challenging. They assist the pupils in many ways including; helping them to organise their resources, keep up with the classwork, reading text, recording answers and much more. They are very much appreciated by not only the Support for Learning department and the classroom teacher but more importantly the younger pupils concerned.
Peer Tutoring runs annually and each pupil is awarded the ‘Diana Award of Excellence’ for their volunteering and commitment to the programme.
Greenhead Moss
On Tuesday 27th September our S3 Asdan Group had planned a visit to Greenhead Moss unfortunately the weather said different. However not all was lost as Aileen, NLCĀ park ranger very kindly came to the school to tell us about the history of Greenhead Moss. Thanks Aileen, our pupils thoroughly enjoyed that talk.
Welcome to your New Year!
Welcome back to all our pupils who were sitting exams in May! Ā Every year group has now moved up.
We hope you enjoy settling into your new subjects and routine. There are lots of fun activities going on during June too!Ā Ā
If you need extra information about any of your classes, please ask your teacher, Pupil Support or SfL staff.
Exam Time! Decision Time!
We are very busy in April and May looking after our senior pupils who are sitting their National 5 and Higher exams. This year there is a record number of pupils who have support, several of whom are sitting exams in a digital format.
Good luck to all of our pupils! Make sure that you are preparing to do your best in each exam.
Remember that you can still contact your teachers during studyĀ leave for any help that you may require.
Also, all of our pupils from S2 onwards have decisions to make about what subjects they would like to study next year. We are here to help support our ASN pupils with these decisions. Please ask if you need advice.
