  Safer Internet Day takes place on Tuesday 5th February.  The attached powerpoint has been showing in the canteen to raise awareness among pupils and staff. Next week S1 and S2 classes will be learning more about this in their ICT classes. safer internet day

Senior Phase Information Evening

Our Senior Phase Information Evening takes place on Thursday 17 January at 7pm for parents and carers of pupils in S3, S4 and S5 to hear about the progression pathways process for next session. There will also be a presentation about Foundation Apprenticeships and a chance to speak to a representative from New College Lanarkshire as well as our SDS Careers Adviser, Angie Reilly.

Welcome back

Happy New Year to all our pupils, staff, parents and carers. A very warm welcome to Mrs DiMambro, Acting Headteacher who will be with us while Mrs O’Neill is on secondment with North Lanarkshire Council. We also welcome Mrs Ballantyne, Principal Teacher Pupil  Support (Phoenix House) and Mr Murphy, Principal Teacher PE and Performing Arts.

Christmas Festivities

It’s been a busy week in Coatbridge High School. Monday was our Christmas Celebration with musical items, dance and our very own Pantomime. (Photos are in the galleries section of the website) Tuesday was our Senior Citizens’ Lunch where we hosted 120 guests for Christmas lunch and 90 of our S1 pupils attended the pantomime at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow. Christmas Fayre

A reminder that our Christmas Fayre is taking place this Saturday, 1st December from 10am -1pm. Come along and buy some Christmas presents, have a snack in our Cafe and enter our raffle to win the star prize of a 40″ Smart TV.

Remembrance Assemblies

We welcomed our chaplaincy team into school today for our Remembrance Assemblies.  Every year group held a minute’s silence while the names of ex pupils of Coatbridge High School who had lost their lives in the First World War were displayed. We have also been making poppies for the Coatbridge Remembers project.  The poppies will be displayed from the bell tower at Coats Funeral Home.
