School Uniform

School Uniform

All pupils in Clyde Valley High School must come to school dressed according to our Dress Code. The Dress Code carries the full support of the Parent Council.

We have ensured that pupils can choose from a range of attractive and comfortable garments. We believe that having our pupils dressed

fully in uniform has many positive effects on the life of the school by:

  • Creating an atmosphere that encourages learning
  •

  • Developing a sense of community
  •

  • Removing unhealthy competition between pupils
  •

  • Helping security – possible intruders can be easily spotted.
  • The School colours are navy, gold, pale blue and white.

We aim to promote a high standard of dress and appearance at Clyde Valley High School.  To this end, we expect that all pupils will dress in accordance with our dress code.  The main supplier of our school uniform is Academy Uniforms LTD

  • Health and Safety

There are forms of dress which are unacceptable in school on Health and Safety, moral or other grounds and are not allowed.  Such items are those which:

  • Could cause health and safety concerns such as loose fitting clothing, dangling earrings, shell suits and jackets of flammable material
  •

  • Potentially encourage faction (such as football colours)
  •

  • Carry advertising
  •

  • Could cause offence (such as anti-religious symbolism or slogans which might be regarded as political or carrying a questionable moral message).
  •

  • Could be used to inflict injury on other pupils or be used by others to do so.
  •

  • Valuable items and unnecessarily expensive items of clothing or jewellery should not be brought into school.  Mobile phones should be switched off and out of sight in class and on the way to class.  Such items are brought to school at the owner’s own risk – the school does not have insurance for the loss or damage of such items.
