At Clyde Valley High School, we run the LGBTI + Allies group, to help provide and promote a positive and non-judgemental environment for our young people within the LGBTI community, along with their friends. It is imperative that our students can fully express their individuality and share their experiences in a safe environment. In addition, it is also our intention and focus to create alliances that increase awareness, decrease prejudices, and create a safe and inclusive environment for all, to ensure our students feel healthy, happy, and valued within the school community. It is important for us to improve our knowledge in this area so that we continue to be an inclusive practice school.
We have regular group meet ups in school along with an LGBTI+Allies Team. If you wish to join the team please contact Miss Ferry.
We achieved our LGBTyouth Bronze Charter Mark in August 2019 and are now working towards our Silver/ Gold.
We continue to celebrate LGBTI History month every February along with Purple Friday. 2023 will be no different. Please look out for posters, check Twitter and the LGBTI+Allies team.
