Homework at Cleland Primary

Following a survey of our pupils and families, it was clear that family life can be very busy and that traditional homework can sometimes create additional pressure and stress.

Reading is therefore the only regular homework sent home from school. We encourage families to enjoy books together and to support independent readers by talking about characters, events and ideas to help develop deeper understanding and comprehension.

We also recognise that rest, relaxation, play and quality family time are extremely important after a busy day of learning at school.
