The BGE Course aims to give S1 to S3 pupils different experiences in reading, writing, listening and talking to achieve a variety of outcomes in preparation for their entry into Senior Phase.

Reading

Reading for Pleasure is a major focus of BGE – reading helps to improve vocabulary, understanding and health and wellbeing.

Pupils will read a variety of different genres in class – Drama, Prose, Poetry, Non-fiction, Film

Writing

Pupils will experience writing in different forms from personal essays to critical evaluations, reports to persuasive essays and imaginative stories to playscripts.

They will work on imrpving their spelling, grammar and vocabulary.

Talking

Pupils will participate in solo presentations on a topic of their choice and group discussions throughout their BGE experience.

Listening

Pupils will participate in listening activities throughout their BGE experience from listening to and questioning their colleagues during talk to listening to documenatries/talks and answering questions.
