We have had some super examples of active homework this week, well done Primary 6. Email your pictures in or leave a comment below to tell us what you have been doing!
We had another very successful lesson for cooking week and we made Vegetable Spring Rols. We practiced our grating skills and bridge and claw cuts. We also learned to stir-fry vegetables and roll filo pastry. We were all really impressed with how they turned out and some of us even enjoyed the taste!!
Here is a copy of the recipe to try at home.
Look at what fabulous chefs we make.
We held a very successful Fairtrade breakfast on Tuesday 16th February and we were very well supported by our friends and community.
Before our breakfast we shopped locally for Fairtrade products and placed posters in the community to advertise our event.
We then made muffins to sell and were very lucky to receive donations from Percol coffee and Scotmid to buy many of our products.
Everyone enjoyed tea, coffee, toast, bananas, muffins and the chance to buy Fairtrade chocolates. We had a really lovely morning, with a great atmosphere and we thank all for supporting us both in attending and making donations.
We look forward to seeing you again at our Fairtrade assembly, 2pm Wednesday 2nd March.
We had a fabulous time at our Christmas Party on Friday 11th December. We shared our party with primary 5 and the children from primary 5 & 6 in St Aloysius. We all love to have a good dance and even enjoyed a chance to do the St Bernards’ Waltz and the Gay Gordons, which we are really good at!
After the party finished we came back upstairs for a quick snack and a drink.
We look fabulous in our party clothes, don’t you agree?
Primary 6 have been very enthusiastic whilst learning athletics. We have worked on our running, jumping and throwing skills and in amongst that we managed some outdoor learning with our measure work! We were blessed with some really lovely Autumn days and managed to have outdoor PE lessons for a number of weeks. Due to injury at times we had pupils unable to take part and they became our photo finish officials and resident reporters. Look at some of their fabulous photos.
We had great fun last Thursday afternoon during our monthly treat time. It was fabulous to see all taking part and we enjoyed pushing ourselves during the challenges set for us.
We had to build a house of cards, catch as many coins as possible from our elbows, find how many spoons we could balance from different parts of our body and build a bridge using pasta and marshmallows.
Antoni and Ashton were amazing at catching coins, they both caught 19 in one shot! I wonder if you can challenge any of your family on any of these things.
For your numeracy work today I would like you to leave a comment that tells me something about the number below. It can be a way of making the number, the structure of the number, a fact that includes that number, whatever you like! Try to push your thinking beyond the obvious.
And the number is…….
286!
