What have we learned?

Well a week has passed since we visited The Risk Factory. I wonder what you can remember.

Your task for this week to is comment under each photo to answer the question.

1. Electricity. Explain what happened in this scenario and tell me why did the light bulb go out at where it was being touched?

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTs)

For your numeracy work today I would like you to leave a comment that tells me something about the number below. It can be a way of making the number, the structure of the number, a fact that includes that number, whatever you like! Try to push your thinking beyond the obvious.

And the number is…….

                                                 286!

Dynamic Earth and The Risk Factory

P6 had a fantastic day today first at Dynamic Earth and then at The Risk Factory. At Dynamic Earth we travelled back in time to before the Big Bang and learned how the solar system then the Earth was formed. We saw how mountains were made with tectonic plates moving together and then we saw a movie about how glaciers carved out valleys, making much of Scotland’s landscape. Then we quickly ate and bought out the shop! Onwards to The Risk Factory and we split into groups to see how much we knew about keeping ourselves safe in different situations including Road Safety, safety near water and on theRailways. Probably the best bit was when he groups were fac d with a ‘real’ fire scenario which they had to respond to. Lots of talking about this still needed I think!!! Here are some photos of our visit.

A time for reflection!

Last week you all had a fabulous time either in school taking part in activities such as tent erecting and building water channels, or going to York and visiting amazing places like Beamish, the Jorvic Centre and Flamingo Land.

Tonight I would like you to reflect upon something that you learned during that week. It may be a specific skill, factual information or something about yourself and your own personality. Take some time to think about your reflection and use the reflective language that you have been taught in class.
