Today we were investigating how to make a fizzy drink.  We learned that a man called John Pemberton was trying to find a cure for a headache when he accidentally made Coca Cola.  We used some of his ingredients to see how we could make a fizzy drink in class.  Judging by the pictures it wasn’t quite Coca Cola but we had fun exploring the investigation.

I go to ASDA and buy a Mars Bar for 34p.  How much change would I get back if i paid with a 50p coin?

I go to TESCO and buy a Zelf for 67p.  How much change would I get back if I paid with a £1 coin?

I go into a shop and buy a Skylander for £1.35 (if only)  How much change would I get back if I paid with a £2 coin?

It’s that time of year again when we start getting excited about a very special visitor.  Over the next few weeks we will be doing some Christmas activities in class.  Can you think of any ideas of things we could do or how to decorate our classroom?

Well boys and girls I hope you are all glad to be back after the holiday.  We would love to know what you were up to during the holiday so we’ll use this space for you to reply and tell us how you spent your week.

We presented a fantastic Harvest themed assembly to the whole school and our parents.  We read out stories, performed a play and sang some songs.  David from the Foodbank came to uplift all the food we had collected to support local people.  Some of the carrot cake we made was shared with our guests and they all loved it.

Well done to all the parents who completed the diacritical marking homework from the open evening.  The draw took place today of all entries and Miss Gibbons selected the winner in front of the class.  The winner was Geoff Scott so Emilie collected the prize to take home with her.

As part of our class topic, we took part in a scavenger hunt outside to collect information on photosynthesis for use in our writing lesson.

As part of our topic, we created model chestnuts with a partner in class.  We have hung these up in class and used them when learning about Seed dispersal.
