Meet our new recruits from Chapelhall Primary 4. Well done on some fabulous application forms which got you these jobs! What an awesome team we have and I am looking forward to our Christmas Enterprise.

We have been having lots of fun out in the playground too!

We have been working on our numbers to 10000. Here are some pictures of us using thousands, hundreds, tens and units to make different values. We had lots of fun being human sums.

Our new topic is called Investigating Plants and Birds. Here are some photos of us using ‘I see, I think, I Wonder’ to tell Miss Wiggins what we knew, what we thought and what we wanted to learn more about. From this we have made a list of questions to answer during our topic.

The new primary 4 are so excited to be back after a great summer holiday. We are three weeks into our new term and have already been working very hard. Please keep checking our blog for information on our class, trips and photos of all our hard work. Here is some information to get started with:

PE

PE days are Monday  and Thursday.

Homework

Homework is given out every night Monday – Thursday. On Monday and Tuesday nights it is spelling/phonics, on Wednesdays maths and Thursdays  topic work – sometimes the blog will be used for this. Additionally, reading should be done every night and books will be changed regularly. Homework will be given out on a Monday morning and collected in on a Friday.

Miss Wiggins

As part of our Honeywell Habitats and Britain since 1930 topics this year, we visited Summerlee in Coatbridge. We had a fantastic day with a practical wildlife workshop in the morning and then we went on the tram to visit the mines and cottages before finishing the day off with time in the play park. Oh and of course we visited the gift shop!

This afternoon P4 pupils had to search the playground for questions.  These questions were all based around things they have learned since coming into P4.  They had to work in teams to find the questions and discuss possible answers.  Afterwards it was interesting to see that they had remembered most things they have been taught but there were a few areas that we may need to go over.

We had great fun decorating cakes and biscuits during Golden Time because we had worked so hard all week to keep all Golden Time.  We were very proud of our class and so was Miss Gibbons when she returned from Kilbowie to hear this good news.

We are working in groups to research famous fictional characters.  Can you tell me a little about the character you are working on and some new facts that you have learned.  You could also tell me what materials you need to create the large cut out of your character.

We started our learning logs in class last week and everyone thought of what went well and things they still needed to work on.  I would like you to think about the last few days and tell me one thing you have learned and perhaps something that you still need to work on in class.
