Science Centre treat!

The PTA have paid for a special treat for the whole school on Friday 16th May. People from the Science Centre in Glasgow will be visiting our school and I’m sure they will bring lots of interesting and exciting things for everyone to investigate. P3/4 will be going down to the gym hall, along with P3, between 11am and 12 noon. Pics to follow…….

Stirling Castle Trip

We had a fantastic day. John the jester was so funny and told us lots of funny stories about his master, King James V. We practised juggling, mastering the Diablo and even spinning plates. The adults tried hard too! The weather was really good – no rain!

Three members of the castle staff commented on the good manners and behaviour of the children. I am very proud of them. They are a credit to their families and their school.
Miss Bryce

P3/4 – what was your favourite part of the trip?

Captured!!!!
The Queen's maid, explaining the tapestries.
With the Queen Mother's servant, John.
Meet John the Jester!
Getting a bit of help!
Smile, everyone!
This is hard work!
Plate spinning - a dying art!
Even Mrs Kennedy tried her hand at juggling.
This one was tricky.
Concentration.........
Class photo in the Douglas Gardens - the scene of a gruesome murder by King James II.
The view from the battlements.

We sorted them and boxed them.

And the bags just keep arriving…..

The children of P3/4 were involved in this initiative. They helped to sort, bag, box and eventually count and store all the generous donations. All primary 4 children were involved in an assembly to explain to others how the NLFB works. It was very interesting and lots of people in the school waglad to help by donating items.

Dress Up Day in memory of Mr McMahon.

We raised money for charity by coming in dressed up – Mr McMahon couldn’t resist a fancy dress occasion so it was a very appropriate way of honouring our janitor.

Didn't we look terrific? Who's that sitting on the teacher's seat?!! And where IS she?

Shrek, Fiona, Luigi, Dorothy - what a motley crew!

Football coaching

With the coach!

Chasing the ball…….

In teams…….and raring to go!

The children took up a six week block of coaching, provided through the Active Schools Co-ordinator initiative. It was a great success.

Golden Time activities

Decorating biscuits - yum!
Just relaxing, watching a DVD on the Smartboard.
Putting on a puppet show.
Loving the arts and crafts activities.

Flat Stanley

Flat Stanley – our class text in the 1st term – was very popular. We created him and sent him around the world. The children waited patiently for all of the Stanleys to return from their travels to places like Spain, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, London – he even made a trip to the White House in Washington DC!
