For Maths Week we were put in to family groups. We had to organise a holiday and decide how much money to save each month to spend on our holiday. The aim of the game was to make sure we had enough money at the end of our holiday and didn't have to borrow money from the bank and go into debt. We had to keep a budget. We bought different things. We enjoyed the food and the pool. We learned to add and save money. We used all of the skills: Literacy, Planning And Organising, Working with Others, Problem Solving, Creative Thinking, ICT, Communication, Leadership, Practical Skills and most of all, Numeracy. It was a great week! The winners that had the most money left at the end of the holiday were Harley, Riley and Lyle.

I had a great time visiting the classroom during Maths Week. All pupils were really enthusiastic and worked as a team during calculations. The families (groups) that chose to go to Florida for their holiday (budget) paid out the most money.
