Maths Week

For Maths Week we were put in to family groups. We had to organise a holiday and decide how much money to save each month to spend on our holiday. The aim of the game was to make sure we had enough money at the end of our holiday and didn't have to borrow money from the bank and go into debt. We had to keep a budget. We bought different things. We enjoyed the food and the pool. We learned to add and save money. We used all of the skills: Literacy, Planning And Organising, Working with Others, Problem Solving, Creative Thinking, ICT, Communication, Leadership, Practical Skills and most of all, Numeracy. It was a great week! The winners that had the most money left at the end of the holiday were Harley, Riley and Lyle.

MEASUREMENT

We have been learning about all different types of measurement throughout this term.  We have learned about Area, Perimeter, changing metres into centimetres.  We have measured out metre squares, read the volume of liquid in containers and worked out their capacity.  We will be moving onto weight, next.  Here is what the class knew about measurement before we started.

Here are some examples of the work we have been doing.
